As some of you may have noticed, I haven't been on in a while, and won't be on for a while longer. My Laptops 'broken' and won't be able to get on. It could be gone for 1-3 weeks, just thought I'd let you all know.

Part of Oxford Circus in London is going to be redesigned for easier pedestrian access, the cross road will be redesigned to look like a cross road in Tokyo.

Take a look at the full article:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/london/7997569.stm

What do you think of the idea?

I think it will just cause more traffic and waste more time.Neutral

There's a lot of traffic in London too. They should take the lead of Bristol, Paris and Amsterdam etc. to make more cycle lanes and things available.. study

But the thing is they will need wider roads and that's hard to do in Central London as the buildings are quite close together and lots of people walk on the pavements so... Neutral That's probably why they want to make the crossing diagonal so they will have less space on the pavement and more space on the roads. Rolling Eyes
